The work of the painter 'Bousli' in Galle (from the wall of "Happy Place Hostel"). - now closed

I fell in love at first sight with the "Bousli" painting (mural) at The Happy Place Hostel guesthouse in Galle, which I visited in August 2019. Now, when I look back on it and see it in pictures, I am really sucked in and look at it forever and ever. And after looking at it for a while, I was struck by a slightly strange sensation. When I wrote the earlier article. I described it as "a picture that makes no statement" and "an endlessly transparent energy that just captures what is there." I described it as... No. Is this a picture of what's there? Rather, it looks like a landscape that is nowhere. Like a world in a dream. That is especially true of this boat painting. The oars are well drawn, but the person rowing the boat is not drawn at all. And although the waves seem dynamic, they are extremely tranquil. It's as if it's in a silent, still, desolate eternity. It's as if I'm in a world without sound. It's so strange, so absor

The category 'Notable people/encounters' continues. Looking back, I think that Sri Lanka, where I have been intermittently for three years, I have met some impressive people here and there. And for some reason, most of them are on the southern coast. In Galle (Galle), inevitably, as it is where I always go. I visited Galle on the number of times in August 2019. I always book a guesthouse online each time I go, and the guesthouse I booked this time was THE HAPPY PLACE HOSTEL, which is in a wonderful location, within walking distance of Fort and the centre.  At this time of the year, I would always still go out to Fort for a day or a few days if I went to Galle, so the accessibility is just right. But it wasn't only for that reason that I was specially attracted to this place. The wall paintings of the inside of the guesthouse that I saw when I booked online are something quite nice. There are very nice paintings . I was kind of curious about this.    When I actually arrive

Galle, a town on the southern coast of Sri Lanka. The town is famous for its fort, which was once Portuguese territory, and has since been immigrated to by Muslim merchants. I love the atmosphere and beaches of this city.  I visited the area for the first time in March 2017 and met some crazy people. We toured the light house at the end of the headland at Fort, a regular tourist attraction, and then walked along the coastal bank, which also has a cliff area jutting out onto the beach. When you go up to the top of it, there are lots of tourists looking down at the sea level below from these jutting heights. I'm a bit afraid of heights, so I'm a bit limping...  I looked over and saw some local guys sitting by the side of the Cliff tops, and they approached me. One of them is Asanka, one of the jumpers in with this poster. (Photo taken on January 2020) Self-proclaimed ' Galle Crazy Jumper '. The poster shows the Jumper flapping his wings and diving like a bird from the t
